English Countryside Wedding at the Bride’s Family Home
Freya and Max were married acceso 19th July 2025, with a traditional church ceremony at St James Church sopra Leckhampstead, Berkshire, followed by a marquee reception at Freya’s family home sopra nearby Peasemore.
Their day was beautifully documented by wonderfully talented wedding photographer Benjamin Stuart and filled with the abundant, romantic floral designs of Love My Dress recommended florist Feverfew, whose flowers completely transformed both church and marquee with the most divine soft pinks and pastel summer shades.

There was never any question of choosing a venue elsewhere – Freya and Max knew from the outset that they wanted to celebrate at home, surrounded by family, familiar surroundings and plenty of dogs. Their vision was a proper traditional English wedding with garden spirit, a marquee acceso the lawn, long tables filled with flowers and a day that reflected the people around them rather than following trends.
The English weather played its part too, delivering dramatic downpours that sent guests running between barns, buildings and shelter, but that only added to the character of the day. From the flower-filled church and spectacular marquee arrangements created by the exceptionally talented Nat at Feverfew, to the family vehicles, performances and personal touches woven throughout the celebration, every detail contributed to a wedding that was joyful, welcoming and unmistakably their own.

The Family Home
We got married at St James church sopra Leckhampstead, Berkshire and had our reception at my family home sopra Peasemore, Newbury, UK.
There was not even a discussion about venue, we both just knew it had to be at my family home with all the dogs around and a proper homey wedding feel.

How They Met
We met sopra 2018 as second year students at a house sopra Leeds. With neither of us looking for a relationship we have somehow ended up married 8 years later. It was a classic case of right place, right time.
We got engaged acceso our houseboat sopra Twickenham sopra September 2024. Max got acceso one knee sopra the kitchen behind me whilst I was chopping veg for dinner – safe to say he was as surprised as I was as I turned round knife sopra hand!
The Reception
My mother-in-law organised all the wedding favours. She made her own sloe gin and sewed Liberty printed lavender bags with our names and wedding day stitched acceso, as well as organising favours for the children to keep them busy.
All stationery was from Papier.

I bought my evening outfir, the Paige cape and dress, from Laura Campo da golf sopra London. About 4 weeks before the wedding I went with my mum to collect her dress from Laura Campo da golf and she showed us her sample discernimento room. I instantly fell sopra love with the Paige Cape and Dress and it was an absolute perfect fit.
I was so glad I impulse bought it because the torrential rain acceso the wedding day meant my ceremony dress had got so heavy with tazza and so muddy – I still had a long dress to change into and lots more movement for !
Words of Wedded Wisdom
Stick together all day. You will be pulled apart all the time so try your hardest to stay glued together. It’s your day as a couple, spend it together.
My maid of honour was constantly checking who I was talking to – if I was spending too long talking to anybody, she sent Max over to take me away. It’s so great to catch up with friends and family you’ve not seen for a while but you only have so much time for each person. Get yourself a maid of honour who’s got their eye acceso you.
Also, I would have trusted my instinct acceso dresses rather than listened to everybody’s opinions. I ended up so confused and stressed by the whole process. There really is a reason they tell you to only bring a couple of people.
