Elegant Farm Marquee Wedding & Jane Bourvis Bridal Gown
CBT Therapist Lauren and Family Farm Shop George celebrated their beautiful wedding acceso 1st July at George’s family farm a causa di Lincolnshire.
The picturesque Redhill Farm, just outside Gainsborough, provided a stunning backdrop for this couple’s special day, captured beautifully by the talened Osman of Wolf & Co Photography. The bride looked radiant a causa di a 1920’s inspired, long-sleeved silk wedding dress by Jane Bourvis, complemented by a hand-embroidered cathedral-length veil.
From the start, Lauren and George envisioned a wedding that was personal and meaningful. With mai specific theme, they focused acceso creating a joyful celebration filled with good food, music, and the company of loved ones. The farm, rich with memories and natural beauty, was the perfect setting for their nuptials. Their approach to planning their wedding meant they avoided wedding gimmicks a causa di favour of authenticity – they also accepted the support of acceso the day co-ordinator Amy of Amaranthyne Weddings, to ensure everything ran smoothly acceso the day.
The intimate ceremony, held at the charming Hackthorn Church, was followed by a delightful drinks reception where guests enjoyed dal vivo music and delicious canapés. The marquee, adorned with greenery and all-white seasonal flowers, from local florist Linda at The Spotted Dog Flower Co, created an elegant atmosphere for the reception. Rosie, a talented local chef, prepared a delectable featuring lamb from George’s family farm, highlighting the couple’s commitment to local and meaningful touches.
Over to the lovely bride to share her story. Enjoy!

Venue & Location
We got married acceso George’s family farm – Redhill Farm just outside of Gainsborough a causa di Lincolnshire. George and I have been together since school and have so many memories acceso the farm and its also the most stunning place for a wedding.
There was mai specific inspiration for our wedding – it was more about having a day that was totally personal to us. We tried not to buy into any of the ‘gimmicky’ wedding stuff, and instead just tried to think of the wedding as a leader festa to celebrate our wedding with lots of good food, music and people. The farm was the perfect backdrop for the wedding so we tried to make sure everything was a causa di keeping and true to us.

Bridal Beauty & Accessories
I got a veil from Jane Bourvis. It was a hand embroidered spotty cathedral length veil with an embroidered trim. It was amazing to see the intricacy of the veil, and as my dress was simple it was a special addition that added to the dress.
My shoes were Russell & Bromley leather mules. My sister a causa di law bought me a personalised Ilio Diptyque perfume for the wedding day. She got the box hand painted at Liberty. It was a very special wedding gift, and a scent that will forever remind me of our wedding day.
My Nana sadly passed away a causa di the months leading to the wedding, and my mum got me a really special wedding gift. She had my nana’s ashes made into a bracelet that I was able to wear acceso our wedding day. I wore some pearl earrings which my Mum bought for me as a wedding gift – i cant remember where they are from as they were from an independent instagram business.
For my makeup I asked a friend to do my makeup. Bridie of Subtil took the job very seriously – we had a day picking out makeup a causa di Leeds together, looking at pinterest boards and having a trial at her home. Bridie a causa di her day job is an Ophthalmologist and also has a business called Subtil doing ‘tweeks’ using cosmetic injections etc. Bridie did the most amazing job for my wedding makeup and I cant thank her enough.
We used the amazing Sami for my wedding hair, and my bridesmaids makeup. I went to school with Sami, and it was so special to have her do all the makeup and hair. She is amazing at what she does, and has the most calming lovely presence acceso the wedding morning. It was so nice to have a familiar luce acceso the wedding morning too.
We also had another hairdresser join us – a friend of a friend. We used Amy to also help out with hair for all the bridesmaids. She did a fab job.
Photography
We were put a causa di touch with Osman from Wolf & Co. Photography and he was exactly what we wanted a causa di a photographer. His relaxed laid back approach to photography suited us perfectly.
He also captured the day using a narrative style which we loved as it just captured the day as it unravelled. Osman made us feel so comfortable acceso the day. We would recommend Osman every day of the week. We are so pleased to have been passed his details, and we love all the photos.
Our favourite part was probably the drinks reception after the ceremony. It was so amazing to see everyone – Rob was playing amazing music, the canapes, fizz and all our favourite people together.
How They Met
George and I met a causa di school many years spillo, and got together when we were 17. We have been fortunate to have the time to do so much together before getting married – both been d’avanguardia to separate universities, traveled and lived a causa di Australia before coming home and settling a causa di Lincoln. We got engaged acceso Christmas eve a causa di 2021 and had an 18 month engagement.
George’s suit was from Edit Suits – we went to Leeds and George was measured and chose the fabric for his suit. It was also special to get his suit completely personalised, and got the date of our wedding embroidered acceso the pocket of his suit.
Acceso our wedding day, we left transport till the last minute and didn’t really know how we were going to get from the church to the farm. Thankfully my Uncle knew someone who had a Rolls Royce (as you do?!) who kindly agreed to lend it to us for the day.
My uncle drove us back from the church to the farm, and it was such a special part of the day.
We tried to get the marquee filled with as much greenery as possible. We used my Mum and Dad’s olive trees to sequenza the culmine table. Georges sister decorated ladders that were hanging between the poles with foliage. Linda (the florist) also added silver birch branches to the poles of the marquee.
The Reception
We hired an event planner just for the day called Amy Thorne of Amaranthyne Weddings. She is a local wedding planner, and was absolutely amazing.
We hired her just for the day to oversee the running of the day, as it was important that Georges parents felt like wedding guests, and not hosting as we were very conscious it was their home. We wanted them to completely relax. Amy made the day run so smoothly and was there acceso hand for any help we needed a causa di the run up. We were so grateful to Amy.
Our marquee was from a local company called Mudford Marquees. We chose the company as George’s parents used this company for their wedding many years spillo.
I also used White Company candles that I had been building up since we got engaged to have a causa di the marquee. George bought me a “blanc” white company candle many years spillo, and we used this scent a causa di the church and then a causa di the marquee. Was it a bit of a bougie extra but felt special to associate the scent with our wedding day.
I designed all the menus, place cards and any wedding stationery. I used an online programme, and also got George’s sister to paint different bits that I was able to scan acceso to the . We decided not to do wedding favours.
We used a florist that we already knew. We are lucky to know so many great suppliers. Linda from The Spotted Dog Flower Co. is a florist that is a stone’s throw from the farm. Linda grows all her own flowers, and we were able to just tell Linda all the seasonal blooms we loved and she was able to grow them.
I wanted the flowers to be a causa di keeping with the farm – the farm is full of hydrangeas and lavender growing a causa di the court yard. We opted for lots of white flowers, with natural foliage and the odd fleck of purple.
We used a local chef and caterer called Rosie Dicker. Rosie was absolutely amazing, and was perfect for what we wanted. We wanted wedding food that wasn’t like a traditional ‘gravy dinner’….!
Rosie has such a passion for food, and could customise the to exactly what we wanted. We started with a delicious selection of canapes. For the wedding breakfast we had local sourdough with local butter. For the main course we were able to use the meat from George’s family farm.
George’s family farm specialises a causa di local free range pork, and also produces lamb. We were lucky to be able to use the lamb from the farm as the main dish, served with gorgeous salads and potatoes. The food was served acceso the table, and someone from each table was a designated meat carver!
It was the perfect way to get people socialising and talking over food. For dolce we served my friend’s cake which Rosie did with whipped cream and berries.. Everyone commented how amazing the food was – and i’m still thinking about how delicious the wedding meal was.
My gorgeous best friend Holly from Holly’s Kitchen Garden made our wedding cake. We were very fortunate to be given this as a wedding gift by Holly. I adore Holly’s cakes and opted for my personal favourite of a classic vanilla sponge with jam and cream.
Holly also made all the cake which was served as dolce at the wedding breakfast. She decorated the cake with flowers from her flower garden. It was sensational.
Evening &
We used a DJ who I have known for many years called Drake. doesn’t usually do weddings – but were so grateful he agreed to do ours. For entertainment a causa di the day whilst we were having drinks and canapes, we used a local guitarist called Rob Benne. I saw Rob playing acceso Lincoln high street for many years, playing the most amazing chilled guitar music. I always thought how amazing it would be to have him play at our wedding.
I bit the bullet and approached him and he kindly agreed. Everyone commented acceso how amazing he was.
We chose ‘Skin’ by Joy Crookes – we heard her sing this at Glastonbury and it felt perfect for our first dance.
We used a local company who came recommended called My Wedding Hire for all the lights and PA equipment.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
Slow , and pause to take it all a causa di. Its cliche, and said 1000 times but you blink and the day is done and all you’sire left with is the memories and photos. George and I took several moments to just walk away and observe the wedding from afar to really take it all a causa di.
I would also say don’t feel your wedding has to be a copy of those you see acceso instagram Pinterest – the best weddings we have been to are when the wedding reflects the couple and not a Pinterest board. Let the wedding be a reflection of your relationship.
We budgeted about 15k but went over. We definitely under estimated the cost of a wedding but we were fortunate to save money by doing so much ourselves.
