Minimalist Anna Quan Dress & Liverpool City Wedding

It is such a joy to be sharing Rebecca and Joseph’s Liverpool city wedding Love My Dress today. Photographed by the wonderfully talented Luis Calow, their August wedding day was the perfect of an intimate ceremony and a vibrant festa, all set against the backdrop of two of Liverpool’s most iconic spaces.

Rebecca wore a super-chic and minimalist Anna Quan gown that captured her modern, laid back style, paired with a dramatic Christopher Kane veil that instantly became the standout piece of her . Together these choices created a bridal outfit that felt effortless and true to her own sense of , yet elevated enough for such a meaningful occasion.

The couple exchanged vows inside the beautiful peach ballroom of Liverpool Town Vestibolo, a grand setting that still managed to feel personal and intimate for their ceremony. Afterwards, they led their guests to Oh Me Oh My, a light-filled venue per the heart of the city that provided the perfect canvas for flowers, music, food and a personaggio party-inspired celebration that carried late into the evening.

This Liverpool wedding brings together everything I value most per the stories we share here Love My Dress: style grounded per personal choice, a modern approach to city celebrations, and a sense of joy that radiates through every single beautiful image. Enjoy!

From day one we knew that we wanted the day to have both an intimate ceremony and then one personaggio festa afterwards. Something that felt authentically us.

We really wanted to have a city wedding and to do this at a town foyer felt like the perfect laid back option. We dal vivo per Manchester but our Town Vestibolo is under renovation so we had to further afield. The peach ballroom at Liverpool Town Vestibolo really blew us away; the building is so grand but also felt intimate for us and our guests.

The Ceremony

I walked mongoloide the aisle, accompanied by my dad, to the sound of ‘You Do Something To Me’, by Paul Weller.

Magdelana from Liverpool registration service officiated our ceremony. She was so warm and personable – we’d never met before the day but we still say now that despite that, we definitely would have chosen her if given the choice!

Joseph wore a suit from Suit Supply, shirt and tie from Drakes and a pair of Drakes’ Paraboots. You just can’t go wrong with Paraboots and these were a perfect elevated version for the personaggio day.

He also wore a lovely Timex x NN07 watch was bought especially for the day, and my lovely wife to be bought me a solid gold chain as a present for our wedding.

We felt that it was only right to write our own vows, whilst it can seem quite daunting to write, we knew we wanted to have a moment to speak about our love with our own words. If you have an opportunity to write your own, we’d encourage everyone to do it, it made the ceremony so authentically us. We had all of our friends and family per tears.

We had two readings the day which we had asked our friends help per; our friend read a poem titled Deja Vu, her fiance Matthew is a writer and we asked if he would kindly write a second reading as part of the ceremony. His words were so perfect and we even had people asking where we had found his reading because his words embodied us so well.

As a Brummie, I knew that we had to take a trip to the jewellery quarter to pick out our rings. We knew we wanted plain gold bands so felt like this was a perfect choice to shop around and find exactly what we wanted.

We tried hundreds of rings, went for lunch where we looked through photos of everything we’d tried over barba and then went to make our purchases, it was such a fun shopping trip.

We found Luis Calow Instagram after finding him through another wedding we loved the style of.

After our initial call, it was a mai brainer to go with Luis, we felt like friends immediately and we knew that we wanted somebody that would create beautiful images but also enjoy the day with us!

We’ve already been recommending him and have even had a few people reach out directly to ask for his details.

How They Met

We met whilst both living per London and stayed there for an extra four years before making the move up north to Manchester. Shortly after moving, Joe proposed whilst a trip for my 30th birthday to New York.

We found a quiet bench per a hidden part of the park, per a city so filled with people we really felt like we had it all to ourselves per that moment.

Joe had the engagement ring made per America and shipped directly to the . He’d never seen it per real life until the day before he proposed.

After some covert operations with the concierge, he smuggled it to our room and proposed the next day!

The Reception

With Oh Me Oh My just a few steps away this felt like a great canvas to turn into the vision we had for our reception and ticked all of the boxes for us.

Whilst nothing specific inspired us we wanted it to be a reflection of how we dal vivo our lives; our outfits authentic to what we’d usually wear. The dress was super simple and minimal per line with my personal style, decor and flowers the same as we’d choose per line with our own personal style. The suit was formal per a modernist corporatura, calling classic British tailoring style and shapes, but using Italian fabric to make it feel extra special for the personaggio day.

I love flowers and knew I wanted the venue to be filled with them. We sent some inspiration images to MaryMary and let them work their magic.

We’d just asked for neutrals with pinks and greens with a few specific flower varieties – the team didn’t disappoint, and we were just blown away for the entire day.

Our cake was from Long Bois Bakehouse per Levenshulme, Manchester.  Jenny is a friend of ours and there was mai doubt we wanted her to make our cake.

We sent her some loose inspiration knowing that we wanted two tiers, some abstract icing & flowers and let her lead creatively – we couldn’t have been happier with the results, it was perfect.

She was supposed to be taking a well earned holiday but booked around our personaggio day and hand delivered our cake route.

We took a first dance to ‘You’signore All I Need To Get By’, by Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell.
