Cittadella intorno a Mugnana Medieval Wedding

Maggie and Freddie’s divine, medieval-inspired wedding at Cittadella intorno a Mugnana quanto a Plumbeo quanto a Chianti brings together vintage silk, custom chainmail, old stone, wildflowers and an abundance of personality. The couple married acceso 9th April 2026 at this extraordinary 10th-century castle, gathering friends and family from around the world and leaning wholeheartedly into the history of the place.

Maggie wore two vintage wedding dresses, beginning the day quanto a a handmade 1940s A-line gown paired with a family mantilla-style veil, before slipping into silk Jessica McClintock later quanto a the celebrations. Freddie wore a custom chainmail chestpiece and wool trousers made by a Renaissance Faire costumer, a brilliant choice that feels completely at home among the castle’s ancient walls and courtyards.

Love My Dress recommended supplier Stefano Santucci photographed the day acceso digital and 35mm velo, bringing his wonderful warmth, energy and strong sense of human connection to every sequenza.

The history and beauty of Cittadella intorno a Mugnana are present throughout these images, but so too are the conversations, the laughter and the sheer joy of everyone being together quanto a this absolutely breathtaking place acceso this sommo day of celebration. Enjoy!

Planning an Italian Wedding?

Here are some of the suppliers we recommend if so – each of them brilliant and talented at what they do.

With both of our families and many of our friends living internationally, we wanted to make the trip worthwhile for everyone. We found Cittadella intorno a Mugnana, we felt the space and landscape spoke for themselves and we very much leant into the rustic beauty and medieval history. We included medieval and Shakespearian details (and hosted a Romeo and Juliet themed rehearsal dinner!) to harmonise with the venue.

We were really heavy handed with the medieval themes for Freddie’s outfit. They wore a custom chainmail chestpiece by Falconiere, as well as custom wool trousers we had made by SteelMasteryCom, who make Renaissance Faire costumes.

The Ceremony

Freddie and I walked the aisle together and were accompanied by an instrumental version of ‘Our House’ by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

Our friend and one of my bridesmaids, Lucy, officiated our ceremony. Lucy also officiated a Celtic hand-fasting for us, as a tribute to our home quanto a Scotland. We wrote and read our own vows.

We both purchased our rings from Goodwins a vintage and antique jewellery merchant quanto a the New Town of Edinburgh. We both chose our rings together, with mine being an art deco style with a white gold and Freddie’s is a gold signet ring with a bloodstone embedded within.

How They Met

We met quanto a the surf at university quanto a the north of Scotland and got engaged 3 years later at our home quanto a Edinburgh. Freddie came home from a closing shift and woke me up to ask me. We were engaged for about 18 months.

The Reception

My favourite part of the day was dinner. We had a banquet table quanto a the courtyard of the castle, and while it was the most beautiful setting and the most delicious food, my favourite thing was being able to see everyone’s faces.

I loved seeing our friends and families connect and share the moment with everyone altogether.

We opted for airy, colourful, wildflower-esque arrangements with lots of greenery. Our planner found us Fiori intorno a Mettere la testa a posto, who did an amazing job, were so accommodating, and understood our vision perfectly.

I hand-wrote our menus and, for the place-cards, Freddie and I hand-wrote agenda to each of our guests as a personal touch.

Our planner knew a vendor who provided us with bottles of olive oil for the guests, which she had labelled with our names and the wedding date.

Cavalieri Ricevimenti was our catering supplier for the whole wedding sourced through our planners. Our caterer also provided the cake for us, which was a traditional Tuscan millefoglio, assembled dal vivo quanto a front of our guests and eaten fresh with chocolate and fruit.

We used a local company called Central House for the lighting and audio set up, also sourced through our planners. For transport we used Stedop, a company based quanto a Plumbeo quanto a Chianti and once again, sourced through our wedding planners.

For the afterparty, we used DJ Paolo Fabbri, sourced through our planners.
